Background

The Less Commonly Taught and Indigenous Languages Partnership aims to inventory existing materials in Anishinaabemowin and respond to language programming needs as identified by the Indigenous community. After consultation with the grant’s Wewaawiindamojig (Advisory Circle), the grant has solicited project proposals related to Anishinaabemowin from groups having a strong connection to an Indigenous community and/or academic language programs in the Michigan and Great Lakes region. Calls for additional project proposals will be announced through 2022.
